Content standards that keep ArewaPen trustworthy for readers and ads
A public library only works if people trust what they will find. ArewaPen combines creator tools with clear ratings and public-page rules so readers, writers, and partners know what the open site contains.
Everyone vs Mature. Books marked Everyone are suitable for a general audience. Mature (17+) covers strong language or adult themes. Mature titles are not exposed as full public chapter text for casual browsing; readers continue them in a signed-in or app context. Misrating is a policy issue because it breaks that promise.
Original work only. Writers must publish work they own or are licensed to distribute. Copied novels, unlicensed translations, and scraped text hurt readers and honest authors. Reports go through in-product tools or info@arewapen.com.
Public pages are for substance. Free, non-mature, web-readable chapters render real story HTML so guests and search engines see the same words. Thin cover grids alone are not the product—the chapters are. Book descriptions should be genuine blurbs, not keyword spam.
Ads stay secondary. Where advertising appears on the website, it follows consent choices and sits on pages that already offer article-length or chapter-length value—public books with samples, free chapter readers, and long journal posts—not on empty account screens.
What readers can do. Use ratings filters, report violations, and prefer unlocking official chapters over pirated forwards. What writers can do: rate honestly, keep free openings generous enough to demonstrate quality, and update on a schedule readers can trust.
Trust is cumulative. Every accurate rating, every real free chapter, and every timely payout makes the next reader more willing to click a link from a friend. That is the standard ArewaPen is building toward.
