Shareable public links for faster discovery

One of the most important things ArewaPen built for authors is the ability to share your work publicly—without requiring readers to sign in first. Here is why this matters and how to use it effectively.

Why unauthenticated access matters. Most web platforms require login before showing any content. This creates friction: a potential reader sees a login wall, decides it is not worth the effort, and bounces before ever reading a word. ArewaPen removes this friction entirely for authors who want audience reach. Public pages render full book information, cover images, chapter listings, and—for free chapters—actual readable content, all without any login required.

The public home page (arewapen.com/public/home). This is ArewaPen's public-facing discovery feed. It shows trending and recent books from across the platform, with cover images, titles, genres, and short descriptions. New visitors arriving from social media or search engines land here and can immediately start browsing. This page is indexed by Google and other search engines, meaning your book can be discovered organically.

The public book page (arewapen.com/public/book/[book-id]). Every book has its own public URL. This page shows your book's cover, title, description, author profile, chapter list, and free chapters. A reader can arrive from a WhatsApp link and start reading your first free chapter in under 30 seconds without an account. When they want to continue past the free chapters or follow you for updates, they create an account—at which point they are already invested in your story.

Public author profiles (arewapen.com/u/[username]). Your author profile is a public page that lists all your published books, your follower count, and your bio. Share your profile link on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook instead of linking to a specific book. New followers can see your whole catalogue at once.

How to construct your share strategy. Use these three links in combination: share individual book links for specific story promotions, share your profile link for general audience building, and link to the public home for brand awareness content. In WhatsApp Status and Telegram broadcasts, individual book links convert best. In Instagram bio, your profile link works better because it showcases everything you have published.
