ArewaPen referrals explained: how to earn by growing the community
ArewaPen's referral program is one of the most underused features on the platform, and one of the most straightforward ways to earn rewards simply by telling people about stories you already love.
How it works. Every ArewaPen account has a unique referral link. When you share that link and someone creates a new account through it, you become their referrer. When that person makes their first purchase, both you and the new reader receive a reward as configured in the current referral programme. Check the Referrals section of your dashboard to see your current link and reward status.
Who should use referrals. Both readers and authors can benefit. For readers: if you are already sharing books with friends on WhatsApp ("you have to read this!"), add your referral link. The friend creates their account through your link, and you earn. For authors: if you are directing followers from Instagram or Twitter to your ArewaPen profile, use your referral link. Readers who join through your link are credited to you even if they later read other authors' books.
Best ways to share your link. WhatsApp is the highest-converting channel for ArewaPen referrals. A personal message that says "I discovered this story on ArewaPen—it is amazing, sign up through my link to start reading" converts better than a mass broadcast. Instagram bio links and Instagram Story swipe-ups also convert well if you have followers in the relevant demographic.
Things to keep in mind. The referral reward is subject to the programme terms at the time. Rewards may be in the form of platform credits rather than cash. Self-referral (creating multiple accounts to refer yourself) is against our Terms of Service and will result in account suspension. The referral count and reward status are always visible in your dashboard under "My Referrals".
