The Determinant and Ambitious Beenah
by @mimsqueen
In a luxurious penthouse overlooking the bustling streets of Paris, Siyama, with her perfectly manicured nails, tapped impatiently on the glass table. Her eyes were glued to a large screen showcasing Beenah's latest fashion show. Rebeca, her loyal assistant, shared the frustration etched on Siyama's face.
"I can't believe Beenah is stealing the spotlight again!" Siyama exclaimed, her voice laced with irritation. "How does she keep doing this? This is supposed to be my day!"
Rebeca nodded in agreement, flipping through a fashion magazine featuring Beenah's recent successes. "It's like she has some kind of magic. Everyone loves her designs, and the critics are raving about her talent."
Siyama scowled, her mind racing to find a way to outshine her rival. Just then, the door swung open, and Mehd Mahbub stepped into the room, his presence commanding attention.
"What's going on in here?" Mehd questioned, his gaze shifting between Siyama and Rebeca.
Siyama shot him a glare. "This is none of your business, Mehd. We have our own problems to deal with."
Mehd, unperturbed, approached the screen, watching Beenah's fashion show unfold. "Beenah seems to be doing well. She's worked hard for this success."
Siyama scoffed. "Don't act like you're on her side, Mehd. We know where your loyalty lies."
Mehd raised an eyebrow. "My loyalty is to talent and hard work. If Beenah is succeeding, it's because she deserves it."
Rebeca, sensing an opportunity, chimed in, "Mehd, maybe you can talk to Beenah. Convince her to step back a bit, let someone else shine."
Mehd crossed his arms, a bemused expression on his face. "I won't interfere with her career. If you want success, earn it on your own merit."
Siyama's eyes locked with Rebeca's, and with a subtle nod, Rebeca exited the room at Siyama's discreet signal, leaving Siyama and Mehd alone, the air became charged with an unspoken tension. Siyama, fueled by frustration and a desire to assert control, approached Mehd with calculated seduction. She sat on his lap, her eyes fixed on his, attempting to captivate him with an intensity that spoke more of desperation than genuine desire.
Mehd, momentarily caught off guard, felt the weight of Siyama on his lap. Her attempts to draw him into a passionate embrace were met with a conflicted response. A twinge of guilt surfaced in his mind as he found himself reciprocating her advances, momentarily succumbing to the allure.
Just as things began to escalate, Mehd abruptly pulled away, a sudden realization flashing in his eyes. The weight of responsibility and his genuine feelings for Beenah crashed back into his consciousness. He gently pushed Siyama away, a look of regret clouding his face.
"I can't do this," Mehd uttered, his voice filled with an unexpected sincerity.
Siyama, furious at the abrupt rejection, stood there, momentarily stunned. "What do you mean, you can't? You were just fine a moment ago!"
Mehd sighed, his internal conflict evident. "I have to be with Beenah. She needs my support. This... this is a wrong."
Siyama's anger boiled over. "Beenah, Beenah, always Beenah! You think she's the only one who deserves your attention? I'm right here, offering you everything she never will."
Mehd, feeling the weight of his decisions, rose from the chair. "Siyama, I can't let personal desires cloud my judgment. I'm sorry."
As Mehd left the room, Siyama, left alone in her frustration, unleashed her anger on the surroundings. She threw objects, venting her fury at the rejection. It became clear that Mehd was not willing to be entangled in the web of her schemes, and Siyama was left grappling with the consequences of her desperate gambit.
Rebeca, alarmed by the crashing sounds emanating from the room, hurriedly returned, finding Siyama amidst the debris of her frustration. Broken pieces lay scattered around, mirroring the shattered fragments of Siyama's thwarted desires.
"What happened in here?" Rebeca asked, concern etched on her face as she began clearing the scattered objects.
Siyama, still seething with anger, gestured toward the door Mehd had just exited. "He just left again, Rebeca. He chooses her over me, again."
Rebeca, ever the loyal confidante, sighed sympathetically. "Don't worry, Siyama. We got this, and can turn this situation to our advantage. Mehdi may be infatuated with Beenah, but we can make sure that doesn't translate into success for her."
Siyama, her eyes narrowing in determination, began to calm down as Rebeca continued, "We still have time before the event ends. Let's focus on exposing Beenah's weaknesses and ensuring her downfall."
Rebeca pulled out a tablet, tapping into the world of social media and fashion blogs. "We can spread rumors, create controversies, anything to tarnish Beenah's image. We'll make sure the spotlight is on her flaws rather than her designs."
Siyama, now intrigued by the prospect of revenge, nodded in agreement. "You're right, Rebeca. I won't let Beenah steal my spotlight any longer. Let's hit her where it hurts the most her reputation."
As they huddled together, crafting a plan in the room, the tension in the air crackled with a renewed sense of determination. The stage was set for a clandestine battle, not only between Siyama and Beenah but also within the intricate web of relationships and ambitions that defined their intertwined lives.
In the bustling make-up room backstage, Beenah sat before the mirror, her reflection framed by a halo of lightbulbs. Her hands trembled as she clutched the edge of the vanity, anxiety etched across her face. Michael, her dedicated make-up artist, hovered around her, brushes in hand, ready to transform her into a vision of confidence.
"Beenah, my dear, you've got this," Michael reassured, his voice a soothing melody amidst the backstage chaos. "You're not just a designer; you're a creator of dreams. This show is your canvas, and the runway is your gallery."
Beenah met Michael's gaze in the mirror, her eyes reflecting a mix of nervousness and gratitude. "I know, Michael. But it's different this time. There's so much pressure, so many expectations."
Michael continued to work his magic, skillfully applying the makeup that would enhance Beenah's features. "Pressure is a part of success, my love. It means you're on the verge of something incredible. Don't let it overwhelm you; let it fuel your passion."
As Michael brushed a subtle highlight on Beenah's cheekbones, he continued, "Remember the first time we worked together? You were just discovering your talent, and look how far you've come. This is your moment to shine, and the world will fall in love with your creations all over again."
Beenah took a deep breath, absorbing Michael's encouraging words. "You're right, Michael. I've worked hard for this, and I won't let nerves steal my spotlight."
Mehd, his mind consumed by the recent turmoil, navigated the bustling backstage area en route to Beenah's dressing room. The air was thick with the scent of anticipation, models in elegant attire and makeup artists rushing to perfect every detail.
Suddenly, Yasmin, Beenah's assistant, appeared like a phantom from the shadows, her eyes gleaming with a mischievous glint. She seized Mehd by the arm, her intentions clear as she pulled him into a secluded corner.
Before Mehd could react, Yasmin pressed her lips against his, a forceful and unwarranted advance that left him stunned. The backstage chaos seemed to fade as the world momentarily blurred into the uncomfortable kiss.
Pushing Yasmin away, Mehd's eyes flashed with a mix of rage and confusion. "What are you doing, Yasmin?!"
Yasmin, unfazed, smirked. "Oh, Mehd, are you finally realizing what you've been missing?" Her tone dripped with misplaced confidence.
Mehd's jaw clenched as he glared at her. "This is not the time or the place for such nonsense. Where's Beenah?"
Yasmin chuckled, her words dripping with sarcasm. "Oh, suddenly remembering Beenah, are we? Is this some game you're playing with Siyama?"
Mehd's patience wore thin, and he snapped, "Enough, Yasmin. I'm here for Beenah, not for your games or anyone else's."
Yasmin, fueled by jealousy and frustration, retaliated, "Beenah, Beenah, always Beenah! Do you think she's the only one worthy of your attention?"
Fury burning in his eyes, Mehd firmly pushed Yasmin aside. "Keep your games to yourself. This is a public place, and I won't be a part of your drama."
As he continued his journey to Beenah's dressing room. With a final stroke of the brush, Michael stepped back, admiring his masterpiece. "There she is the fearless designer ready to conquer the runway. Now, go out there and show them the magic that is Beenah!"
As Mehd entered Beenah's dressing room, the air seemed to shimmer with an enchanting aura. His breath caught in his throat as his eyes fell upon Beenah, who stood in the midst of final preparations, a vision of elegance in her intricately designed ensemble.
"Wow," Mehd whispered, momentarily lost for words.
Michael, the ever-present make-up artist, couldn't help but notice Mehd's stunned expression. With a mischievous twinkle in his eye, he teased, "Looks like someone is forgetting how to breathe in the presence of true beauty."
Mehd, regaining his composure, shot Michael a playful glare. "You're not making it any easier, you know."
Beenah, catching on to the banter, smiled radiantly. "What's all this fuss about, Mehd? Do I look okay?"
Mehd, still awestruck, managed to stammer, "Okay? You look absolutely breathtaking, Beenah. I'm... I'm at a loss for words."
Michael, reveling in the moment, chimed in, "And here I thought I was the one responsible for transforming faces. Seems like love is the best makeup."
Beenah blushed at the compliment, her eyes meeting Mehd's. "Thank you both. Your support means the world to me."
As they continued to admire Beenah's transformation, the room was filled with a shared sense of anticipation. The backstage chaos faded into the background, leaving only the trio, connected by the threads of friendship, admiration, and unspoken emotions.
Kano State, Nigeria...
In the heart of Kano, Nigeria, a luxurious car glided to a stop in front of a grand house. The gate swung open, and the gatekeeper's face lit up in a welcoming smile. However, the man inside the car, engrossed in a conversation on his phone, paid little attention to the warm reception.
The owner of the car, Kamal, a figure of prestige and authority in the community, continued his conversation as he spoke about a business trip to Paris. The other person on the line, sounded very persistent and persuasive, was attempting to coax Kamal into accepting the opportunity.
"No, I won't be going," Kamal firmly stated, his eyes focused on the sprawling mansion in front of him.
"But Kamal, it's an excellent opportunity for our business expansion. Think about it," the voice on the other end insisted.
Kamal, resolute in his decision, responded, "I appreciate the offer, but I can't go. I have lot of work in Kano that I can't neglect."
As the conversation reached an impasse, Kamal hung up, the silence of the car contrasting with the lively atmosphere outside. The gatekeeper, still beaming with hospitality, gestured for Kamal to proceed.
Exiting the car, Kamal, lost in his thoughts, walked towards the imposing entrance of the house.
As Kamal approached the entrance of the mansion, his brother Manga, a perpetual source of discord, intercepted him with his usual barrage of accusations and grievances. The air thickened with tension as Manga, fueled by resentment, aimed his words like arrows at Kamal.
"Kamal, you can't keep avoiding this. Everything that happened in the is your fault! You're the reason for every bad thing happening, damn it!" Manga's voice resonated with bitterness.
Kamal, always striving to maintain composure in the face of Manga's provocations, clenched his fists but chose to remain silent. He tried to step past Manga, unwilling to be drawn into another futile argument.
However, Manga, persistent as ever, continued to taunt, "You think you can just ignore it, don't you? Pretend everything is fine. But we all know the truth. Boddo's disappearance is on your hands!"
The mention of Boddo, a wound that never fully healed, ignited a spark of anger within Kamal. Unable to contain his frustration any longer, Kamal turned abruptly and shoved Manga forcefully against the wall. His hands tightened around Manga's collar, fingers itching to express the rage that had long been suppressed.
Just as the confrontation reached a critical point, their father, Jauro, emerged from the mansion, his presence commanding attention. "Enough!" he bellowed, rushing to intervene before the familial strife escalated further.
Kamal, releasing his grip on Manga, took a step back, his eyes burning with a mix of anger and frustration. Manga, though momentarily subdued, shot Kamal a triumphant look, as if relishing the chaos he'd incited. His eyes stern as he directed his frustration towards Manga.
"Manga, how many times have I told you to let go of this resentment? Fighting with Kamal won't change the past, and it won't bring Boddo back," Jauro reproached, his voice tinged with a weariness that hinted at the weight of family struggles.
Manga, consumed by a deep-seated anger, retorted, "You always take Kamal's side, Father! Ever since you found out he's your son, I've become invisible to you!"
Jauro, his expression hardening, countered, "This isn't about sides, Manga. It's about finding a way forward as a family. Your constant conflicts with Kamal only drive us further apart."
Manga, feeling unheard and sidelined, couldn't contain his rage. "I'm your son too, but you only see Kamal! You've changed, Father, and it's all because of him!"
As the words hung in the air like an unspoken truth, the fracture in the familial bonds deepened. The courtyard, once a place of shared memories and laughter, now echoed with the dissonance of unresolved conflicts.
Jauro, torn between his two sons, struggled to bridge the growing chasm. "Enough, both of you. We need unity, not more division. Find a way to put aside your differences for the sake of the family."
Manga, still simmering with anger, stormed away, leaving Jauro with a heavy heart. The shadows of familial strife cast a long and looming presence over the once-united household, each member grappling with their own demons.
As the chapters of their lives unfolded, the destinies of Kamal, Manga, and Jauro became entwined in a complex dance of love, resentment, and the pursuit of redemption. The echoes of their conflicts hinted at a future where the fractured bonds could either be repaired or shattered beyond repair.
