He was in his room which he usually stays in when he come to Maiduguri his head ducked down pressing his phone when suddenly the door barged open
He just stares at the only person who will do this to him that's his cousin Ashraf and continued pressing his phone
"Hey buddy" he says
"Sometimes i just wonder how your wife really cope with this craziness" I said ignoring him
"Says the one who can't even approach a lady talkless of collecting her digits" mocked Ashraf
"Oh just cut the crap, don't you have a house and a wife" I asked
"So now I am making a mistake by leaving my work behind just to stay with you so you don't feel lonely and die out of boredom" he said
"Enough with your drama, I am serious,it's getting late won't you go home" I voiced
"I just came by to say goodnight, we are leaving" he replied
"Ok, where is my daughter why didn't i spot her with you"
"I left her with granny"
"Ok,let me walk you to the car" I said and hop down the bed
"Look man....." Ashraf start but pause midway
"What's up" I asked raising one of my eyebrow
"I am just wondering like when will you man up and meet that girl, I guess by tomorrow or next tomorrow you will be on your way home" Voiced Ashraf
"I am thinking maybe I will be going to their house tomorrow insha Allah"
"Ok, I wish you all the best" he says patting me on the shoulder
"Thank you"
"Oh my lord, granny did you hear that, the famous Ahmad Shuwa just thank me, I guess it's gonna be raining today" he says dramatically on reaching the parlor
"Rinrin my daughter" I call Nasrin with the nickname I sometimes calls her with
"Uncle A, we are leaving" she said
"Have you eaten" I asked and she nod
"No Ahmad, i haven't given her any food, i wonder what you will be like when you have your own child" granny voiced literally annoyed by my question towards Nasrin
"I am sorry granny" I apologise
"You better be" she replied
"I think we will be on our way now" Ashraf says interrupting the banter
"Ok, my regards to Waleeda, she just abandoned me, I never knew what i did to her" she says,afterall Waleeda is her favorite among all her granddaughter in law
I was coming back after accompanying my cousin Ashraf and his daughter to the parking lot when suddenly her thoughts came running back to my mind
Her fair and glowing skin
Ugh! That smiles of her that never seems to leave her face
When she laughs
Ya ilahiiii
I am a goner for her
I have to go to their house tomorrow i can't seem to erase her thoughts and image in my mind
She is an epitome of beauty, as i set my eyes on her i know she is the one for me
Can't wait for tomorrow
"Ya Allah you know what's best for me if she is the one let her fall head over heels when we meet tomorrow" I prayed silently

I am currently in my room scrolling through Instagram reels
It's noon already and mom hasn't arrived yet, she went to one of her friends house
If i can remember she said her friend's son was sick or something like that
So she leaves me all alone by myself Ya Abdul is not back from work Aareef too had disappeared saying he is visiting a friend
And i have to go cook dinner as the tigress will be back after Maghrib she said

I switched off my data and rush to the kitchen with my phone i have to call this kid
I went to the kitchen contemplating what to cook, then i remembered that i have to call this boy
I dialed his number, he picked up on the last ring
"Sister like no other, what's up" he says immediately he picked up the call
"Wa'alaikum'assalam, the sky is up. For goodness sake Aareef have you checked the time, you left home before mom, i guess the word home doesn't exist in your dictionary, right"
"Sorry sis..." he started but I cut him off
"Keep your sorry to yourself and I am telling dad about this and I am serious this time"
"But i said sorry na" he said almost on the verge of crying
"You said sorry Aareef, for goodness sake I am all alone in this house for more than 3hours and when i complain you just say sorry"
"I will be on my way inshallah" he says
"I want to see you in this house in the next 30mins if not i swear you won't have a single rice for dinner and i mean what i said" I voiced and cut the call
This boy will one day give me hypertension can you believe it he left the house after he woke me up in the morning that's by eleven
I guess it's because his mom isn't home, just let him not get back before the time i gave him and he go see trouble
I sigh and started cooking i swear i will just cook fried rice and coleslaw
