Maktub | when we were almost forever

Introduction

by @writewithmina

I'm so excited to finally share When We Were Almost Forever with you.

This book has gone through editing and re-editing.

It's not perfect yet but I really hope it will be enjoyable.

This isn't a story about love at first sight.
It's about two ordinary people who slowly become each other's safest place. It's about quiet conversations, unanswered prayers, family, faith, laughter, growing up, and the kind of love that changes you long before you realize it's happening.

Set between Kano, Lagos, and Abuja, this novel is rooted in Arewa culture, Muslim values, and the beauty found in everyday moments. I hope, as you read, you feel like you're walking beside Amira and Ahmad, sharing their joys, their mistakes, and the memories they create together.

Some chapters will make you laugh.
Some will make your heart ache.
And some... might stay with you long after you've finished reading.
If you find yourself smiling, crying, or falling in love with these characters, then I've done my job as a writer.
Thank you for giving my story a chance. Your votes, comments, and every word of encouragement mean more to me than you know. They keep me writing. 🌼
Before you continue...
Take a deep breath, settle in with your favorite drink, and enjoy the journey.
After all...
Some love stories aren't meant to be forgotten. They're meant to be remembered.
Happy reading. 🤍
