Moral lesson
The story of Jamil teaches us that one small lie is never small.
Jamil lied about a python to escape farm work, but that one lie stopped a whole village from farming for three days. It made his mother ashamed, it made his father angry, and it made him do more lies to cover the first lie - like making fake snake marks on his own leg.
This is what we call THE GENERATION OF LIE: One lie gives birth to another lie, until it becomes too big to hide.
But the story also teaches us the power of truth. When Jamil finally confessed in front of the village, even though he was shamed, his truth set everybody free. The village went back to farm that same day.
Lessons to learn:
1. Never lie to escape work. Laziness and lies always bring shame.
2. One lie will always need another lie to cover it.
3. The truth may be bitter and shameful at first, but it brings peace in the end.
4. If you make a mistake, confess quickly. Do not wait until it grows.
5. Plant truth, because truth grows into trust, respect and a good name.
Just like Jamil's father said: "A lie is like a seed. If you water it with more lies, it will grow into a tree and its shade will cover everyone around you."
So always choose truth - even when it is hard.
